Young the Giant

Young the Giant is an American alternative rock band that formed in Irvine, California in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass), and Francois Comtois (drums).

Originally known as The Jakes, the band changed their name to Young the Giant in 2010 and released their eponymous debut album later that year, which featured the hit singles “My Body” and “Cough Syrup”. The album was well received by critics and helped to establish the band as a rising force in the alternative rock scene.

Since then, Young the Giant has released several more albums, including “Mind Over Matter” in 2014 and “Home of the Strange” in 2016. Their music is characterized by a blend of indie rock, pop, and world music influences, with Sameer Gadhia’s distinct and powerful vocals serving as a centerpiece.

The band has toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally, performing at major festivals such as Lollapalooza and Coachella. They have also earned multiple award nominations, including a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album for “Home of the Strange”.
